What's so great about organic food?
Are you looking for a quick way to feel bad about yourself? Then forget the idea of a healthy diet and just eat what your body wants you to eat. Your body demands meat; your body craves fat; your body wants salt and sugar. Your body will put up with fruits and vegetables if it must, but only after all the meat, fat, salt and sugar are gone. And as for the question of where your food comes from — whether it's locally grown, sustainably raised, grass-fed, free range or pesticide-free? Your body doesn't give a damn.
But you and your body aren't the only ones with a stake in this game. Your doctor has opinions about what you should eat. So does your family. And so too do the food purists who lately seem to be everywhere, insisting that everything that crosses your lips be raised and harvested and brought to market in just the right way. If you find this tiresome — even intrusive — you're not alone. "It's food. It's identity," says James McWilliams, a professor of environmental history at Texas State University. "We encourage people to eat sensibly and virtuously, and then we set this incredibly high standard for how they do it. If we’d known that we were going to be so picky with everything, would we have started?”

Advertising is constantly shouting at us - left, right and centre. Buy this and you certainly need that. Is it time to get away from your consumer lifestyle? Take time to embrace a life of true freedom, fulfillment and happiness. It may be difficult at first, but it's worth it and you could save a lot of money!
Be aware of why, when, how much and how often advertising affects your spending habits. Advertisers are paid a lot of money to influence your subliminal mind with flashing pictures, soothing scenes and jingles that linger in your mind to connect you with a product. They convince you that having things is a lot of fun and that your happiness comes from having things.
Be sure that you are the right kind of person for this lifestyle. Are you controlled by envy? If you love to keep up with your neighbors, the latest fashion or fads, this is probably not for you. However, if you don't care about what other people think and have a passion to reduce or reuse to maintain our planet, then you should have no problem.
Before you buy ANYTHING, be it a new hoody or an overpriced sandwich, ask yourself at least three times if you really need it to live. Walk away from it, sit down, have a think about it, come back and face the object in question.
These tips may not guarantee a better life, but at least you might feel happier about what you have.

As many as 5.5 million Britons could be signed up to work contracts that promise them less than three hours of work a week, five times more than existing estimates, new figures suggest.
A survey of 5,000 members of Unite, Britain's biggest union representing more than 1 million people, found that 22% of workers employed by private businesses had deals that offered little or no guarantee of work and pay.
Across the entire UK workforce, the figures suggest millions could be employed on zero-hours contracts, which often provide no holiday or sick pay but can leave employees having to ask permission before seeking additional work elsewhere.
The Unite general secretary, Len McCluskey, said: "The government's refusal to address the growing scandal of zero-hours contracts is creating a sub-class of insecure and low-paid employment."
The Trades Union Congress will debate the issue on Sunday as unions pile pressure on the government for change. Vince Cable, the business secretary, is undertaking a review of zero-hours contracts for the government which is due by the end of this year. He has said that new legislation could be introduced but his inquiry has already been branded inadequate by Labour.
