Contexto: Esta canción se publicó en 1979 como parte del álbum Reggatta de Blanc y fue escrita por Sting, el cantante principal de The Police. Se convirtió en el primer número uno del grupo en Reino Unido, un momento muy importante en su carrera. La canción utiliza la imagen de una persona sola en una isla, que envía un mensaje dentro de una botella con la esperanza de que alguien lo reciba.
